What is hourly support?

Hourly support is a pre-agreed support arrangement between you and your ilarna Personal Assistant. Your ilarna Personal Assistant will be scheduled to come into your home for a set number of hours, for as little or as often as you need them to. Hourly support can be for as little as an hour a week or several hours a day, it’s all your choice and is unique to you and your support requirements.

The benefit of hourly support is that you can stay comfortable at home but still receive the support you need. Hourly support is a fantastic solution for both short-term (being discharged from hospital, just needing a little assistance, respite coverage) and long-term support (support for an extended period of time).

What’s included in hourly support?

Hourly support tasks can be varied and range from companionship and help with housework to more complex requirements such as mobility support and medication management. With ilarna you’ll be able to create a specific and tailored plan that fits you perfectly! 

Hourly support tasks can include:

Personal support – your ilarna Personal Assistant can provide discreet, compassionate and sensitive assistance with various hygiene tasks such as toileting and bathing.

Meal preparation – your ilarna Personal Assistant can prepare nutritious meals, snacks and drinks for you, or help you with preparation if you’re more of a confident cook.

Help with housework – your ilarna Personal Assistant can use some of their time with you to keep your home clean and tidy. They can help you with washing, vacuuming, or any other light housework chores.

Mobility support – if you struggle with your mobility your ilarna Personal Assistant can assist you and offer support as you go shopping, visit a friend or have a walk around the park together.

Medication management – your ilarna Personal Assistant can use their time with you to organise your medication and can be scheduled to come into your home when you need to take your medication to ensure you take it on time.

Completing chores – your ilarna Personal Assistant can assist with daily tasks and help you with food shopping, collecting your prescription or running a few errands with you.

How to find hourly support?

Hourly support is super easy to arrange and find with ilarna.

We provide a unique service which allows us to find the perfect support for you! Our matching service connects ilarna Personal Assistants with you based on your specific needs and requirements. With hourly support you can request for assistance with companionship and just having someone to keep you company for a couple hours or you can request assistance with more complex requirements such as dementia support. We’ll have the perfect fit for you!

Arranging support is incredibly easy and can be arranged with the assistance of our Customer Experience Team:

Your first step is to contact our Customer Experience Team, who are available 7 days a week and can be contacted through the enquiry form located at the bottom of the page.

Once you’ve contacted the team, we’ll ask you a couple questions to learn more about you, what tasks would be expected from your ilarna Personal Assistant and the kind of person you’d like to connect with. We’re known for support that feels like family.

Once you’ve selected the ilarna Personal Assistant you’d like to learn more about we can schedule a discovery session which is the perfect time to meet in person and see if you click before committing to any booked sessions. This is a fantastic time to build that foundation of trust, ask any questions you might have and leave feeling empowered and confident in booking your first session with them.

The Customer Experience Team will then guide you through the booking process and sign you up for your first session together! Once that’s complete, you’re all set up, your ilarna Personal Assistant will then be able to set up any future sessions with you and book time together to assist with all your tasks!
