Each applicant takes part in a video conversation with the ilarna team. This is not about assessing care delivery, but about understanding how someone communicates, what experience they bring, and how they approach working respectfully in people's homes. Where relevant, references and stated experience are also reviewed, so that profiles accurately reflect the kind of support an ilarna Personal Assistant is offering.
Your role in choosing the right person
While ilarna carries out these checks, the final decision always sits with you. Each ilarna Personal Assistant has a detailed profile showing their background, experience, and interests, often including a short video introduction. You can take as much time as you need to look through profiles before reaching out.
Before anything begins, we encourage a relaxed introductory conversation, by video or in person, so you can see whether the relationship feels comfortable and right for your home. All early communication can happen through the ilarna platform, keeping personal contact details private until you are ready to move forward.
Once support begins
The platform offers tools to keep things clear and visible without directing or supervising the work itself. ilarna Personal Assistants may share brief notes after visits if you choose, helping you and your family stay informed about everyday routines. Payments are handled securely through the platform, so there is no need to manage cash or share bank details directly.
